Climate Wise Travel Grant
Alethea Global Cooperative is proud to sponsor the Climate-Wise Travel Grant, designed to support DA Global Access Network members who are making intentional, low-carbon choices to attend the annual Global Impact Conference in Minneapolis this October 28-31, 2025.
We believe being “climate-wise” means thinking creatively and making conscious choices about how we travel and engage with conferences as international education practitioners. This grant celebrates those efforts and helps to offset the additional time, planning, or cost that can sometimes be associated with sustainable travel choices.
What does “Climate-Wise” travel look like?
We welcome applications that demonstrate a creative and committed approach to reducing travel emissions, such as:
- Choosing low-emission modes: Traveling primarily by train, bus, or ferry.
- Maximizing your journey: Combining your conference travel with other work trips (e.g., site visits, meetings) to avoid multiple long-haul flights in a year.
- “Embracing the journey”: Opting for a longer overland route instead of a direct flight.
- Building community: Organizing or participating in a carpool for a significant portion of the journey.
- Innovative combinations: Using a “train-to-fly” or “bus-to-fly” strategy to significantly reduce the air mileage of your trip.
Grant Award
- A $400 stipend to be used towards registration for the Global Impact Conference
- Recognition as a climate-wise leader within the DA Global Access Network community.
Eligibility
- Be a member or affliated with a member organization of the DA Global Access Network.
- Have the intention and ability to travel to Minneapolis for the 2025 Global Impact Conference.
- Attend the 2025 Global Impact Conference in-person in Minneapolis
- Have a proposed travel plan that thoughtfully aims to reduce emissions compared to a standard round-trip flight from your city of origin.
Submit your application by October 3, 2025 in order to be considered for a grant. Please note that there are a limited amount of grants and applications demonstrating a impactful plan will be highly valued.

This cohort provides the chance to learn collaboratively, engage in discussion, and apply climate justice principles to your international education work.
